WHAT? No Good Morning Gato post last week? That’s just plain wrong. That’s like mixing together peanut butter, orange juice and chives. It’s an acceptable concoction, but just wrong and somehow disappointing. I blame E3 for the lack of Gato news and the lingering travel hangover that was felt Friday morning. No matter, though, because we’re looking towards the future and the future is NOW. Enjoy today’s freshly baked, chive-free edition of GMGato.

Look! A Vampire Smile Milestone
It has been a long while since we talked Vampire Smile or even given an update on its development progress. The reason for that is complicated, so I’ll spare you the details. With that, I can confirm that one of many milestones is rapidly approaching and in a few days it will have been successfully reached and completed. (Fingers crossed.) From that, you can gather that James is in fact making progress on the game and that he is overworked and in need of quality sleep. Milestones. You gotta’ love ‘em.

PAX Prime 2010
It’s with great excitement and fervor that I can confirm that this September, Ska Studios will be packing up The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile for an airplane ride to Seattle for a little shown known as PAX Prime 2010. You read that correctly. We will have a booth at PAX Prime to showcase the latest build of Vampire Smile which will actually be only the second event we have ever done.

If you will be in Seattle or can make the trip this September, there’s still time to register for the show. We’ll be there waiting for you in a totally non-creepy and professional way. See you next week!

E3 2010 Experienced in Pictures

We’re back!

E3 2010 is officially in the books and I’m pleased to report that team Ska Studios successfully escaped Los Angeles before rioters turned downtown into a war zone. We are now safe, at home, with Gato. She missed us dearly.

As promised, I wrangled up a few photos for a nifty E3 picture gallery (kindly embedded below) for you to click through and use to live out your E3 fantasies if you were unable to attend. A great time was had by all, memories were made and new friendships were forged on the show floor. And even though Vampire Smile was nowhere to be found at the convention, we have PAX Prime to look forward to when The Dishwasher and Yuki will again be the center of attention.

What’s that you say Gato? You want every last person on the internet to read this week’s edition of Good Morning Gato? Well, my feline friend, that is an unachievable goal you have there, but maybe we can a few hundred folks reading. Okay, Gato? Is that a fair compromise? Good! Cat paw high five!

Jet(packing) To E3
Come Sunday morning, we’ll be flying through the clouds and attempting to keep ourselves busy while we make our way to Los Angeles for a little event called E3. Maybe you have heard?

We will be taking a multi-multi hour airplane ride from Albany, NY to Los Angeles, CA which will be tiring, but nothing compared to the 38 days of travel it would take if we were to walk the same distance. (Thanks Google!) Obviously, aircraft transportation is the most logical method of travel across the country, but I can’t help but think that jet-packing would be way more enjoyable even if it would tack on a few days to our itinerary. Jet packs rock.

Contest: Be Creative And Get Your Name In Vampire Smile
We partnered with our pals over at Destructoid to offer up a suhweet contest where YOU offer US a creative suggestion for one of Yuki’s in-game moves. Simply head over to Destructoid’s contest post where you can watch a video of Yuki in action and get all the contest rules and such (United States residents only. Sorry international friends.) One lucky winner (hand selected by Mr. Silva himself) will not only have their creative combat name included in Vampire Smile as part of Yuki’s list of brutal moves, but will also win a stellar prize pack as well as creative credit in the game’s end credits. E3 Photograph Randomness
Truth be told, I have been unsuccessfully attempting to keep my E3 excitement to a quiet whisper these past few weeks. With that, you should be well aware that team Ska Studios is headed to Los Angeles for some E3 2010 happy fun times that’s sure to include sore feet and mild hangovers.

For those not be attending, we would LOVE to pack you up in our virtual luggage and bring you with for a week of gaming mayhem. To do that, just let me know what you would like us to capture at E3.
